The MDFPA has officially released information regarding the eagerly awaited upcoming 2010 National Powerlifting Championships. Here follows the MDFPA's official statement:
The MDFPA 2010 National Championships will be held inside the Sports Hall at the Giovanni Curmi Higher Secondary School in Naxxar on Saturday the 15th of May.
All categories up to 75kgs will weigh in at 1000hrs and lift off at 1200hrs. All categories from 82.5kgs upwards will weigh in at 1200hrs and lift off at 1600hrs.
These Championships will be drug tested, and National Records can be broken. The total entry fee for this event is 30 Euros. Of these, 10 Euro is your annual annual subscription to the MDFPA to become an official member eligible to particpiate both locally and abroad, 15 Euro is the drug testing fee in order to cover drug testing expenses, and 5 Euro is the venue fee.
Lifters, please confirm your entry by emailing maltapowerlifting@gmail.com specifying your Name and the weight category you will be competing in.
On the day, prior to weighing in, you will be required to fill in and sign the official entry form. Please bring your 30 Euros entry fees with you to be paid upon weighing in.
Please be aware ALL LIFTERS MUST WEAR A SINGLET. Also please be aware of the following equipment rules:
A T-Shirt must be worn beneath the singlet for the SQUAT and BENCH PRESS. Knee-high socks must be worn for the DEADLIFT. NO SUPPORTIVE EQUIPMENT other than a LIFTING BELT and WRIST WRAPS may be worn. No other equipment may be worn. Bandages around the knees or elbows are strictly forbidden.
As we receive your confirmation of entry by email, we will publish the provisional starting line ups for both lightweights and heavyweights.
