The Championships will take place at the Preluna Hotel in Sliema. All lifters must register with the MDFPA and the WDFPF for a registration fee of 10 Euros.
The MDFPA is committed to the worldwide initiative of cleaning up the image of strength sports. Drug-free Powerlifting is for naturally trained athletes and drug testing will be conducted at the championships. MDFPA lifters must also be available for random drug tests that can be carried out at any time of the year at the discretion of the MDFPA doping-control officials. Check out the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) prohibited list to find out which substances are banned. All lifters are obliged to pay a 18 Euro drug testing fee.
Regular supplements and creatine are fine, but beware of supplements that claim to raise testosterone levels, and all supplements that are manufactured by brands who also manufacture pro-hormones and other illegal drugs, as they are susceptible to cross contamination between their products. Drug test results are made public through the association website, and failed drug tests result in an automatic lifetime ban from competition. These rigorous controls are essential to protect the integrity of strength sports and keep competitions fair for everyone.
Upon receipt of your registration fees we will provide you with a membership card and a handbook to assist you in your preparation for the Championships and totally familiarize you with competition proceedings.
